Electrical recycling target to increase to 65% from 2019

New regulations will see Ireland work towards a more circular economy – helping to put a stop to rogue WEEE collections.
WEEE Ireland, the largest compliance scheme in Ireland managing waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), has today welcomed the publication of new legislation that will help Ireland increase the amount of ewaste it recycles annually.
Under the new rules signed into law* by Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan T.D., Ireland will need to significantly increase the amount of WEEE collected for recycling in the coming years.
