WEEE and Batteries Retailer Registration
Under the Regulations all retailers supplying EEE, automotive and/or industrial batteries must register as a retailer with their Local Authority (€200) or with the Compliance Scheme (free of charge) responsible for their area.
If your premises is located in any of the following areas, you should register under WEEE Ireland (designated collection areas are subject to change, notifications will be given)
Carlow Co. Council, Cork City Council, Cork Co. Council, Donegal Co. Council, Dublin City Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Co. Council, Galway City Council, Galway Co. Council, Kildare Co. Council, Kilkenny Co. Council, Laois Co. Council, Leitrim Co. Council, Limerick City and Co. Council, Longford Co. Council, Mayo Co. Council, Offaly Co. Council, Roscommon Co. Council, Sligo Co. Council, South Dublin Co. Council, Tipperary Co. Council, Waterford City and Co. Council, Westmeath Co. Council, Wexford Co. Council, Wicklow Co. Council
Each individual retail premises must be registered separately. Retailer registration is a separate requirement to Producer registration.
Retailers who directly import or rebrand electrical appliances and/or batteries may also have Producer obligations and should register accordingly. Producer Register Ltd. provides information on Producer Registration here.
